Kewaunee County Emergency Management & LEPC
Kewaunee County, Wisconsin

Grants

Over the past several years, Kewaunee County has received grant funding from the federal government to purchase equipment for local response agencies.  These grants have enabled agencies & departments to get equipment that they may not have otherwise received.

Items purchased include portable radios, personal protective equipment, portable decontamination tent & heater, gas sensors, respirators, thermal imaging cameras, defibrillators, personnel accountability systems, a security system and much more.

The most notable items purchased with grant funding were:

Mobile data terminals:  Laptop units installed in all police and sheriff's department squad cars within Kewaunee County.  The MDTs provide a direct link to state traffic and criminal information, which helps to alleviate pressure on the dispatch center.  The MDTs also allow officers a secure method of communication with law enforcement agencies throughout the state, including, but not limited to, Wisconsin State Patrol.

Equipment Trailer:  A 7 x 14 foot trailer stocked with equipment and supplies that may be necessary during an incident.
