Potentially dangerous weather is a fact of life in Wisconsin, whether it is a blizzard in January or a strong thunderstorm in the middle of the summer. In 2005, a record 62 tornadoes hit the state of Wisconsin, but that total does not reflect the instances of high winds, lightning, hail and flooding that normally accompany severe thunderstorms.
