The Kewaunee County LWCD has 3 tree planting machines available for rent during the spring tree planting season.  Anyone planting 1,000 or more trees in Kewaunee County can rent one of these tree planters.  Up to 4,000 trees can be planted in a day with a tree planting machine.

The cost to rent one of these tree planters is $20.00 for the delivery of the planter plus $20.00 for every 1,000 trees that you plant with it.  You will need at least a 35 horsepower tractor with a 3 point hitch to pull the planter.  The drawbar will need to be removed from the tractor prior to hooking on the tree planter.  You will also need a crew of at least 2 people to plant trees with a tree planting machine – 3 people seems to work better.

Someone from the LWCD will drop off and pick up the tree planter from your site if you decide to rent one.  If you’d like, someone can also help you hook the planter to your tractor’s 3 point hitch.
