Kewaunee County is home to more than 10
miles of singletrack mountain bike trails, found among hilly and rolling
woods and meadows. Over 1,000 volunteer hours have been logged by the
Kewaunee Chapter of the Wisconsin Off Road Bicycle Association, in the
planning, construction and maintenance of these trails. Knowing that
every tree, log, and stone has an intended purpose, please do not
alter the trail.
Though these trails were designed with
advanced mountain biking skills in mind and may not be
appropriate for all users; hiking, trail running and snow shoeing are
encouraged. Use of helmets is required for biking. Due to the
narrow nature of singletrack, you will notice the trails are signed for
one direction of travel. Please abide by this rule, as it is for
everyone’s safety and enjoyment, and for the health of the trail.
In these multi-use areas, all trail
users should be aware of others. At Riverview Park, there are 20
miles of ATV trails, so please be aware of ATV traffic. For
safety, ATV’s are not allowed on mountain bike trails. Likewise,
we are not allowed on theirs. Sections along this 3 mile trail are
signed 1-9, to aid you in identifying your location. The 160’+ hill
at Winter Park creates the White loop, which remains open until snow
making begins December 1st. All of the trails are closed during
the gun-deer season.
Every form of recreation has some sort
of “boundary”. Think of the singletrack trail as being the
boundary here. Going off the designated trail is no longer within that
boundary, and is no longer part of the experience. Hence the
designation of the term ”singletrack”. We take the singletrack
experience seriously, and we hope you do to. ENJOY THE TRAILS
