Kewaunee County Public Health is
excited to share that as of January 1, 2014 we will be
launching a Sharps Collection Program. The program
will allow Kewaunee County residents to bring their used
sharps to the Public Health Department, 810 Lincoln
Street for safe disposal during normal business hours,
Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30pm.
Residents will be required to use
an approved container such as a red, sharps container or
a plastic laundry soap container with a biohazard
sticker on it. Please only fill your container
about 2/3 full to avoid sharps from coming into contact
with anyone. Also, please wipe the outside of the
container down with a household cleaner and place the
container in a plastic bag before delivering to the
Public Health Department.
There will be a
$5.00 per sharps container charge to cover the cost of
disposal. Kewaunee County will not profit from
this program. For more information or questions
please contact the Kewaunee County Public Health
Department at 920-388-7160.
