Women Infants and Children (WIC)

The Women Infants and Children (WIC) program provides education and nutrition consultation as well as special food packages support to help keep pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants and children healthy and strong. 

WIC Provides:

  •          Information on how to use WIC foods to improve health.
     

  •          Checks to purchase healthy foods such as, milk, eggs, juice, cereal, peanut butter, beans, and infant formula.  WIC also provides special benefits to breastfeeding women who do not supplement with formula.
     

  •          WIC helps infants and children receive immunizations.
     

  •          Provides education on healthy eating during pregnancy and breastfeeding as well as feeding your infant and child.
     

  •          WIC makes referrals to doctors and other programs such as, Food Stamps, Medicaid and Birth to Three.

 

How To Apply:

    To apply for WIC, please call the Kewaunee County Public Health Department at 388-7160 during regular business hours, and ask to see if you are eligible for WIC.
