The
Kewaunee County Revolving Loan Fund was established in 1998 with the
first Community Development Block Grant for Economic Development (CDBG-ED)
awarded in the County.
Today,
more than $1 Million are working throughout the County. CDGB-ED loans
are Federal dollars that are channeled through the State Department of
Commerce to local units of government. The funds are in the form of a
loan to the business and a grant to the County.
The CDBG-ED loans are paid directly
back to the County. These payments of principal and interest help to
capitalize the County’s RLF.
Quite frequently, the RLF will provide
“gap financing” to help close the gap between conventional financing
methods and help a project located in the County to move forward.
Kewaunee County’s Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) program is based on job
retention and creation. It offers a dollar for dollar match on
financing for eligible projects.
