WELCOME TO KEWAUNEE RECYCLES!
The purpose of this site is to educate residents
about recycling, waste reduction and environmental issues in order to reduce the
amount of solid waste going into landfills
and ensure proper disposal of garbage
in all municipalities within Kewaunee County.
It is as easy to be part of the
solution as it is to be part of the problem. Try some of these waste saving
tips.
- Avoid disposable items.
There are long lasting durable substitutes for items such as these: cleaning
supplies, razors, flashlights, lighters etc.
- Buy refillable items.
Less material equals less landfill space.
- Buy items in bulk
to reduce the amount of packaging.
- Hold a yard sale.
Most of your household furnishings can be recycled through yard sales, garage
sales or donate them to a charity
- Compost.
Recycle yard waste into an excellent soil amendment.
- Encourage recycling
where you work. Offer to start up or join a recycling committee.
