Provides educational opportunities to children aged 3-21 who meet the requirements for special education services. Wisconsin law defines a child with an exceptional need as: any child who has a mental, physical, emotional or learning disability which, if the potential of the child is to be attained, requires special education services to supplement or replace regular education. The following handicapping conditions may require special education and/or related services: physical or orthopedic disability, mental retardation, hearing or visual impairment, speech or language disability, emotional disturbance, learning disabilities.
