    Pre-employment skills classes, information, support, counseling, job placement and resource referral are provided to eligible women. The six week pre-employment skills courses include instruction in self-awareness, communication and assertiveness, career exploration and planning, problems solving and decision making skills, budget management, public contract skills, positive work relationships and organizational skills. Participants receive child care and travel reimbursements and other necessary expenses while attending class. Staff members provide individualized placement assistance and one year follow-up. Services available to the community at large include an on-going child care provider list, a clearinghouse of employment-related information and workshops for area businesses and organizations.
