The following is a listing of employee benefits offered by Kewaunee County. Eligibility for certain benefits are determined by employment status. Please refer to the appropriate policy and/or collective bargaining agreement for specific details.
Medical Insurance
Kewaunee County offers a medical plan for employees. Medical insurance shall become effective the first day of the month following the first 30 days of employment. Part-time employees must work an average of 30 hours per week to be eligible for medical insurance. The cost of the medical insurance is then prorated based on the number of hours worked.
Dental Insurance
Kewaunee County offers a dental plan for employees. Dental insurance shall become effective the first day of the month following the first 30 days of employment. Part-time employees must work an average of 30 hours per week to be eligible for dental insurance. The cost of the dental insurance is then prorated based on the number of hours worked.
Paid Time Off
Kewaunee County offers several paid time off benefits that include: vacation, sick leave, personal day, county observed holidays, funeral leave, jury duty leave. Part-time employees will receive paid time off on a prorated basis.
Part-Time Employee Benefits
Regular part-time employees receive all employee benefits on a pro-rated basis.
Life Insurance
Kewaunee County enrolls eligible employees in a life insurance program with basic term life coverage for the employee and accidental death and bodily injury coverage for the employee.
Wisconsin Retirement System
Employees may be eligible to participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System. Employees eligible for the Wisconsin Retirement System Program shall contribute a percentage of the contribution rates as established by the State of Wisconsin. Kewaunee County will pay the remaining portion of the contribution rate.
Voluntary Flexible Spending Account Program
Kewaunee County offers employees a voluntary Flexible Spending Account Plan. The FSA Plan saves money allowing the employee to pay for certain health related expenses and dependent daycare expenses on a pre-tax basis. Employees may elect to deposit monies in a flexible spending account on a pre-tax basis via the convenience of payroll deduction.
Voluntary Deferred Compensation Plan
Kewaunee County offers employees access to a Section 457 Deferred Compensation Program. Employees may defer part of their income into this individual retirement plan. Deferred compensation allows employees to set aside pre-tax earnings toward retirement via the convenience of payroll deduction.
Voluntary Short Term Disability Plan
Kewaunee County offers employees access to a voluntary short term disability plan. If accident or injury occur, the short term disability plan will distribute monies directly to you based on the plan options you select. Your short term disability plan cost is conveniently offered with the convenience of payroll deduction.
Voluntary Life Insurance Plan
Kewaunee County offers employees access to a voluntary life insurance plan. You can enroll in this voluntary life insurance plan with no medical review.
