Siren Activation

When National Weather Service notifies Kewaunee County Emergency Management or Kewaunee County 9-1-1 Communications of a tornado warning the sirens will be activated in the City of Algoma, Village of Casco, and Village of Luxemburg in Kewaunee County where outdoor warning sirens are located. Our goal is to protect or minimize the risk of injury to the public.

The warning sirens may also be used for other emergencies, including chemical spills, toxic hazards, or a nuclear incident, which may require residents to take action. Information pertaining to these activations’ will be made available through radio and television announcements to inform you as the actions to be taken.

"All clear" announcements will be made over the television or radio, and NOT by means of the warning sirens.
