Maternal & Child Health Services

New Mom Visits: A Registered Nurse will offer a home visit to each first-time mom living within the County. During this service, information will be shared on infant care, child development, safety, community resources and nutrition.

Well Water Testing: Pregnant and new mothers are eligible to have a free well water test done to test for water issues that can harm the fetus or child.

Fluoride Varnishing: Children under age 6 who do not get regular dental care due to lack of dental insurance may get a free fluoride varnish to protect and strengthen teeth from harmful bacteria and prevent tooth decay.
 

Car Seat Checks: Free car seat checks and installation services are available with a Certified Car Seat Technician. Call (920) 388-7160 for an appointment. 
 


Teen Parent Services: Kewaunee County Public Health nurses are available to counsel any pregnant or parenting teen. Pregnancy information will be provided, as well as access to information regarding community resources. A teen parent program staff member will meet regularly with the teen to help insure the teen receives all necessary health care and successfully completes school.

Pregnancy in College: More than five million undergraduate students are currently pregnant or parenting, which makes up more than one-quarter of the entire student population. CLICK HERE for your rights in college during pregnancy.

First Breath Providers: First Breath is a program of the Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation (WWHF) to improve maternal and child health through perinatal smoking cessation. CLICK HERE for more information.

What is Prenatal Care Coordination (PNCC)?

It is a FREE Medicaid and BadgerCare Plus benefit that helps pregnant women get the support and services needed to have a healthy baby.
