Maintenance Technician
$23.59/hour, full-time, 40 hours/week

The Maintenance Technician provides standard building services .

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalency, plus two years of related experience.  This position is open until filled.

The position of Maintenance Technician works under the direction of the Maintenance Manager to provide  building  services at several county buildings.  If you like variety with your work, apply today!
 
Example of Duties:
 
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on buildings, grounds, and equipment
Inspect facilities to identify maintenance needs.
Respond to work order requests in a timely manner
Perform groundskeeping duties including snow removal, lawn care, and exterior maintenance
Assist with facility setup and breakdown for office moves, meetings, or events

Qualifications:
 
High school diploma or equivalent required

Two (2) or more years of experience in building or facility maintenance, or a combination of education and experience

Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems

Basic carpentry, painting, and general repair skills

Knowledge of general safety practices.

Ability to operate maintenance equipment safely

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks

Good verbal and written communication skills

Ability to maintain accurate records and reports

Ability to operate a PC or laptop for work-related tasks

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Ability to work flexible hours as needed.

Physical Requirements:
 
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and standing
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying types of conditions
Pre-employment physical testing with urinalysis is required.
