Get Healthy Kewaunee County BINGO Challenge Returns for Summer

KEWAUNEE, WI – The Get Healthy Kewaunee County BINGO challenge is back for summer and the Kewaunee County Public Health Department is hoping that the community will once again join in on this health & wellness journey put on by the Get Healthy Kewaunee County workgroup, a group composed of health care providers, local business owners, and community members, who are committed to improving nutrition and increasing access to physical activity in Kewaunee County.

The goal is to complete 15 squares on a BINGO card of tasks from August 1-31, 2021. Tasks include, swimming at the beach in Algoma or Kewaunee, walking or biking for 60 minutes on the Ahnapee State Trail, and/or donating to a local food pantry.

When the Get Healthy Kewaunee County BINGO Challenge was offered in the beginning of the year, it had nearly two dozen prize winners from its participants.

"We know that our first group of Get Healthy Kewaunee County BINGO challenge participants enjoyed the different ways of improving on their nutritional and physical activity habits as it was reflected in the comments about seeing the challenge return in summer,” said Rachel Bauer, Kewaunee County WIC Director & Dietitian. “Anyone who participates and submits their BINGO card and form before the deadline will be eligible to win fabulous prizes. This includes, a $100 VISA gift card, 18 holes of golf with cart at Northbrook – Golf & Grill, Packers apparel, and gift cards to local businesses like Rose’s Family Restaurant, Port O’ Call, The Bucket, Kewaunee Bowl, Pretty Please Boutique, Algoma Book Corner, Stodola’s IGA and Piggly Wiggly. Children can also play and win kid-friendly prizes like a kite donated by Friends of Crescent Beach and gift baskets.”

Completed BINGO cards can be submitted via mail to the Kewaunee County Public Health Department, Attn: Rachel Bauer, 810 Lincoln Street Kewaunee, WI, 54216 or email to Rachel Bauer at bauer.rachel@kewauneeco.org or dropped off at the Kewaunee County Public Health Department. The deadline to submit cards is September 10, 2021.
