Kewaunee County Public Health to Host COVID-19 School Immunization Clinic

KEWAUNEE, WI – The Kewaunee County Public Health Department is hosting a two-part COVID-19 School Immunization Clinic in order to help get Kewaunee County students and school staff fully vaccinated for the 2021-22 school year.

Those who are 12 years and older can receive their first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine on August 5, 2021 and second dose on August, 26, 2021 at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds EXPO Hall, 625 Third Street, Luxemburg from 1PM-6PM.

Appointments for both dates of the COVID-19 School Immunization Clinic can be made now by calling the Kewaunee County Public Health Department, Monday-Friday from 8AM-4:30PM at (920) 388-7160, clinic walk-ins are also welcome.

“We have kept the number of positive COVID-19 cases in Kewaunee County low over the summer, and the more people that we can get vaccinated, the better chance we have to keep the numbers down throughout the school year without having to quarantine dozens of students and staff due to possible exposure,” said Cindy Kinnard, RN, Kewaunee County Public Health Department Director. “The COVID-19 virus has been mutating into different variants and the vaccine has been proven to help protect against each strain, and by taking action in getting immunized, the possibility is there to keep kids in their classrooms for in-person learning.”

The COVID-19 School Immunization Clinic is for students and staff of Kewaunee County schools only. The general public is able to make COVID-19 vaccination appointments with Public Health during regular hours of operation, Monday-Friday from 8AM-4:30PM at (920) 388-7160.
