Holiday Donation Drive Enters Eighth Year of Giving Back to the Community
KEWAUNEE, WI – Help make a big difference in a small way this holiday season by donating towards the "Giving for Sara Food & Hygiene Drive", organized by the Kewaunee County Public Health & Human Services Departments.
Donations of non-perishable healthy foods and personal hygiene products as well as monetary funds are being collected to stock the shelves at area food pantries as well as help community members who are in need and served by Kewaunee County.
Due to COVID-19, mailed monetary donations are highly encouraged this year in place of in-person donations. Checks for monetary donations should be made payable to Kewaunee County with a notation of “Giving for Sara Food & Hygiene Drive”. Receipts will be available. Donations will be accepted December 1-December 31, 2020 at Kewaunee County Health & Human Services, 810 Lincoln Street, Kewaunee, WI 54216.
Those who wish to drop-off monetary donations or non-perishable healthy foods and personal hygiene products can still safely do so by social distancing and face masking. The suggested list of items to donate includes: canned chicken or tuna (packed in water), canned fruit or fruit cups (packed in water or fruit juice), healthy cereal or granola bars as well as shampoo, conditioner, diapers, baby wipes, deodorant and soap. Please check the “Best Used By:” dates, expired items cannot be accepted.
This effort is in memory of Sara Malay who unexpectedly passed away in October 2013, while serving as the Aging Services Unit Director for Kewaunee County.
Please feel free to call the Kewaunee County Public Health Department at (920) 388-7160 with questions about the “Giving for Sara Food & Hygiene Drive” program.
