Kewaunee County Emergency Management Collecting Donations
LUXEMBURG, WI – Kewaunee County Emergency Management is reaching out to local businesses to find out if they have available personal protective equipment that could be used by emergency personnel during the COVID-19 crisis.
“Resource requests are coming in from our emergency responders as they discuss response plans for individuals who may have COVID-19. They are looking over what personal protective equipment they have on hand and what they need more of,” said Tracy Nollenberg, Director of Kewaunee County Emergency Management.
One of the businesses that has answered the call of action is Agropur in Luxemburg. The cheese plant is making a donation of sixteen boxes of nitrile gloves, six cases of lab coats, four gallons of hand sanitizer spray, and some polyethylene aprons.
In a statement sent to Kewaunee County Emergency Management from Agropur:
“Our Luxemburg facility has been a part of the community for over 125 years and plant managers are taking steps to prepare our employees and community. Agropur-Luxemburg has implemented a COVID-19 response kit and provided personal protective equipment to protect Kewaunee County emergency responders. We’re very thankful for Kewaunee County: law enforcement, fire personnel, EMS, and first aid responders.”
Kewaunee County Emergency Management adds that Multi-Color Corporation, which has a plant in Algoma, also made a donation of N95 masks to Bellin Health in Algoma.
To donate, please contact Tracy Nollenberg, Director of Kewaunee County Emergency Management at nollenberg.tracy@kewauneeco.org or (920) 845-9701.
