Kewaunee County Public Health Partners with Prevea for
Free Skin Cancer Screening Clinic

KEWAUNEE, WI – Registration is now open for a FREE skin cancer screening clinic being offered by the Kewaunee County Public Health Department and Prevea Luxemburg Health Center during skin cancer awareness month in May.

The clinic on Saturday, May 7, 2022 will be held from 8:30 a.m. to Noon at the Prevea Luxemburg Health Center, 101 School Creek Trail, Luxemburg. It is open to all ages, and will offer spot checks by a medical professional, who is also able to discuss the signs of skin cancer and share advice on how to best protect your skin.

To register, call the Kewaunee County Public Health Department at (920) 388-7160.

“Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer, and we cannot stress enough how important it is to use sunscreen when you’re outside and to reapply as often as needed. It only takes one blistering sunburn to increase the chances of developing melanoma,” said Cindy Kinnard, RN, Kewaunee County Public Health Department Director.

Medical professionals have screened more than 100 people for skin cancer during past clinics offered by the Kewaunee County Public Health Department and Prevea Luxemburg Health Center and have referred some participants to seek further evaluation.

Please note that masking and social distancing will be required at the skin cancer screening clinic as a COVID-19 precaution.
